Who doesn’t love cakes? Those buttery and creamy sponge filled with mouthwatering chocolate mousse inside, oh they are to die for! While the inside of the cake is deemed to be very important, so as to its outside physical appearance. The decoration, cake color, toppings and icing embellishments makes it equally appetizing to the eyes.

But for this lady, it is mandatory to have cakes and decorations always on top. And girl she delivered it with flying colors by making a wallpaper cake! Yes you’ve heard it right! A cake designed using wallpaper. And don’t raise your eyebrows because it is very much EDIBLE!

This might not be the easiest DIY cake but the results will literally shock you!

You will need:

  • Photoshop or Illustrator
  • Design in digital format
  • Edible paper and ink/ edible printer
  • Buttercream frosted cake

Are you ready to create this hearty wallpaper cake?

Step 1: Create a design of your choice or look over the internet. Use Photoshop or Illustrator to repeat the design.

Step 2: Print the digital image using an edible printer. If you don’t have one, go to your nearest cake shop or bakery to have your design printed.

Step 3: Cut the printout according to the size of your cake. You may follow a wrap-around design or cut out individual images if you like.

Step 4: Attach the printout to the frosted cake by pressing it firmly. DONE!

To keep your wallpaper cake from melting, avoid humidity and temperature changes. Sweat and moisture will break down the paper and you don’t want the crowning glory of your cake to liquefy because it will make your culinary masterpiece a big disaster.

I know you don’t want to cut it but it is a CAKE!
